Static Free Wax

The Problem

Communication switch equipment manufacturers require clean environments with static free floor coatings that dissipate electric charges. Floor wax specifically compounded to meet this requirement is required for communication rooms.

The SolutionData Center Cleaning Staff

Preparing a switch room floor first involves carefully cleaning the tile surface. We scrub the narrow aisles on our hands and knees and use a machine only in wide open areas. Once the dirt and silicone coating have been removed, two coats of static free wax are applied.

After allowing the wax to harden, high speed buffers with filters may be employed to give a high gloss shine.

Regular maintenance is timed to match room traffic and involves scrubbing up spots, spotting with wax, and rebuffering as required.

Clean To A Shine

Switch rooms that are dirty are dull and uninspiring. Our associates clean the whole room diligently to set up their waxing operation. After applying static free wax, they wait for the wax to harden before buffing it to a glossy finish. Maintaining the cleanliness by HEPA vacuuming and spot scrubbing is accomplished with minimum interface in the room. Employees and vendors will take pride in their work if the room is clean and buffed to a shine.

Reasons

WAX PROTECTS YOUR FLOOR

Floor wax inhibits scuffing and makes cleaning much easier. Every floor requires cleaning and regular maintenance. Make your floor look sharp as it works for you.

STATIC DISSIPATION

When your whole floor surface dissipates a static electrical charge, it compliments your wrist cuffs, floor mats and other static dissipation techniques.

GLOSS GIVES PRIDE

Your staff, vendors and peers will share your pride in your switch room when the floor is clean and reflective.

WATER SOLUBLE WAX

We can maintain your floor finish for years without bringing in harsh stripping agents. We use relatively mild cleaning agents and a lot of elbow grease.

REDUCED RISK

Our crew's diligence in cleaning and waxing results in fewer maintenance visits, thus reducing risk.

When To Wax

It's not a bad idea to clean and apply Static Free Wax early in the room's life, before the switch arrives. If the floor isn't treated then, get us involved as soon after the switch installation as possible. It is vitally important to maintain a sharp, professional floor appearance in a switch room and it should be done by an intelligent, experienced crew with integrity.
